A large extension to a Grade ll listed building in a village near Salisbury, to provide a gallery for the owner's paintings which had previously been on loan to Southampton Art Gallery (as they were too large for his home).
Our work involved close liaison with historic buildings specialists and craftsmen, who had worked on the restoration of Prior Park and Windsor Castle following fire damage.
This project involved the complete restoration of a Grade ll listed former farmhouse in a village near Salisbury together with a small extension at first floor level to provide a new en-suite to the master bedroom.
The house had previously been covered with a cement-based render, which was causing damage to the underlying chalk structure. We arranged the careful removal of the old render and its replacement with a lime-based render followed by an appropriate lime wash.
